3Com 5500g series switch factory reset

Step 1:
Click here to learn serial connection using console cable

Establish serial connection with switch using 9-Pin DB9 Serial RS232 Port to RJ45 Cat5 Ethernet LAN cable.

Step 2: Open "putty" SSH and Telnet client...

• BaudRate: 19,200 baud or 9600 baud
• Databits: 8 data bits
• Parity: None
• 1 stop bit
• Flow control: XON/XOF

Step 3: Turn on the switch. Press CTRL B to enter into boot Menu

Step 4: Select Number "7. Skip current system configuration

Are you sure you want to skip current configuration file when reboot? Yes or
No (Y/N): Enter Y

Step 5: Select Number 0. reboot

Step 6: After reboot enter command line exactly as below:
reset saved-configuration
Switch is in factory default condition now.

Write display version command to see version of the switch.
